MS411 - PCV Mechanic

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £18.32- £20.71 per hour

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking PCV Mechanic on behalf of one of clients. Applications from HGV Mechanics will also be given due consideration.

Hours of Work:

  • Sunday to Saturday, five from seven. Varying hours on a rotating shift pattern.
  • 4 x 8 hours and 1 x 7.5 hours shifts. Shift rotation of both early & late day shifts - 5:30 - 13:30 & 13:00 - 21:00. 
  • 37 paid hours, 39.5 hour week total.

OR 

  • 37 hours a week (with 30 minutes unpaid meal break). Sunday to Saturday, 5 from 7. Day shifts only.
  • Monday - Friday (Earlies) £18.32 per hour. Enhanced rate of £21.79 per hour for Saturday/Sunday and overtime.
  • £18.32 per hour. Enhanced rate of £21.79 per hour for Saturday/Sunday and overtime.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To maintain, inspect, diagnose, repair and test mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • To carry out any repairs as necessary to ensure safe and roadworthy vehicles to a high standard of reliability and quality.
  • Carry out any reasonable maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to health & safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Have a strong work ethic and understand the need to be reliable and flexible.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • PCV driving licence is desired however training may be considered for the right candidate.
  • Experience of Cummins & Scania drivetrain & electrical systems.
  • Experience of modern electrical systems & OEM diagnostic systems.
  • At least 3 years post qualifying experience ideally in a main dealer or PSV workshop.
  • Holder of a recognised apprenticeship qualification (City and Guilds or NVQ level 3).
