Astutes Power Team are working exclusively with a leading Waste Management organisation who operate an incineration plant in Nottingham which processes municipal waste to generate steam which is then exported via pipelines to a nearby Energy Centre site with a steam turbine, generating energy from waste.

We are looking for a Maintenance / Multi-Skilled Technician to join the Maintenance Team supporting with reactive and preventative maintenance across a variety of plant to maintain the facility's availability.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader you will be responsible for:
  • Pre-planned and reactive maintenance duties on all mechanical & electrical plant ranging from pumps, valves, compressors, conveyors, cranes, generators etc
  • Assisting other disciplined technicians in maintenance on Control Systems & Instrumentation
  • Conducting continuous improvement activities, plant modifications and design work
  • Maintaining workflow through the sites CMMS, ensuring records are kept accurately
  • Assisting with the planning of maintenance activities for planned outages
  • Supervising 3rd party contractors
  • Deputising for your line manager as and when required




Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Apprentice trained / Craft Trained
  • Ideally qualified with a minimum NVQ 3 in a Maintenance discipline
  • IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification




Personal skills
The Maintenance Technician would suit someone with:
  • At least three years experience post apprenticeship from a heavy industry such as Power Station (Coal, Gas, Energy from Waste / Biomass) Refinery, Petrochemical, Paper/Steel Mill etc
  • Experienced in working on a variety of plant such as boilers, pumps, valves, motors, drives, conveyors etc
