Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Plumber)
Location: Nottingham
Contract: 4 to 8 weeks

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Plumber) to join our team on a temporary 4 to 8-week contract in Nottingham. In this role, you will ensure that the site's plumbing and mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to ensure the efficient and safe operation of heating, water supply, drainage, and other mechanical systems.

This position is ideal for someone with technical expertise, a proactive approach, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plumbing Maintenance: Perform planned and reactive maintenance on plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, toilets, taps, showers, and more.
  • Heating Systems: Maintain and repair heating systems, including boilers, radiators, and associated controls.
  • Fault Diagnosis & Repairs: Identify and resolve faults with mechanical systems promptly to minimise downtime.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular checks and preventative maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems to extend their lifespan and reduce breakdowns.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and facilities teams to ensure reliable service delivery.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain clear communication with site managers and staff to minimise disruption during maintenance work.

About You:

  • Proven experience in plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
  • Relevant qualifications in plumbing or mechanical engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing).
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Candidates with experience of maintaining HVAC systems are highly desirable
