The Company:

Known for its curated selection of independent shops, artisan products, and exceptional visitor experiences, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping their retail offerings. They are seeking a skilled and creative Buyer to manage the procurement for their on-site shops, ensuring their products remain distinctive and in demand.

Role & Responsibilities of the Buyer:

  • Develop and implement a buying strategy aligned with the overall brand vision and customer demographics.
  • Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best quality products at competitive prices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while actively identifying and onboarding new partners.
  • Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity to ensure product ranges remain fresh, unique, and in-demand.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock turnover, reducing waste and overstock issues.
  • Collaborate with shop managers and the marketing team to create seasonal and promotional product plans.
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and supplier meetings to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Analyse sales data and customer feedback to inform future buying decisions.

About You as the Buyer:

  • Proven experience in a buying role, ideally within retail, lifestyle, or artisan product sectors.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Commercially minded with excellent analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Creative flair and an eye for identifying unique, high-quality products that align with brand values.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers, shop managers, and internal teams.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
