Working Hours: 4 on/ 4 off – Days & Nights

Stonegate Farmers Ltd have an opening for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Packing Centre. Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery, ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations. Working  closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimise equipment performance.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine maintenance on production equipment (Grading machines and mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps and shaft drives)
  • Ensure planned engineering tasks are delivered on time and in full.
  • Assist team to work towards maximising plant and equipment efficiency so downtime is minimised.
  • Ensure good repair / manufacturing practices and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities
  • To ensure appropriate contingency stock is available on shelf for all planned maintenance and flag any shortfall of these parts.
  • Work closely with production staff to achieve daily targets
  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives to drive efficiency and process improvements.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and industry regulations (HACCP, GMP, etc.).
  • Operate within a Clean As You Go policy request and provide assistance to the process technicians where required

Qualifications / Experience:

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience of working within a food manufacturing / production environment
  • Proficient understanding of manufacturing engineering equipment, especially process and production lines.
  • Experience with and ability to use a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of PLC systems, automation, and control circuits.
