This role would be for 37 Hours per week Monday- Thursday 08:30-16:30, Friday 08:30-16:00As a Technician your day to day responsibilities will include but not limited to:To create a pleasant and welcoming first point of contact for all students and visitors, ensuring security to site access during busy times of the working day.Maintain and update student and visitor access databaseTo respond to students' general requests for information signposting them when necessary to other contacts.Providing basic study skills support for students across the Open Student Resource AreasMaintain appropriate levels of day-to-day supervision and student behaviour across Open Student Resource Areas, challenging unacceptable behaviour as necessaryAssisting staff and students during the editing of films using the appropriate systemsAssisting students in the use of a variety of industry standard software in creating media projects Assisting the college admissions and marketing department to support the promotion of college life and student activities, including the creation of podcasts and digital media.Managing camera and equipment hire and keeping appropriate records. Liaising with the IT department to help maintain IT equipment (Windows, Mac and iPad) Maintaining department equipment and track equipment lent out to students Maintain filing system for updating and logging of digital filesGeneral housekeeping in the department / Maintaining stock and ordering items Assisting with the organisation and storage of student work Being first point of contact for commercial work and media projects with stakeholders Assisting with displays, exhibitions and any college events Providing initial support assistance to students and staff Assisting in the provision of cross college audio/visual equipment and supportTo be an active member of the First Aid team, undertaking a First Aid qualification to provide first response where necessary under the direction of the Senior First AiderYOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO FULLY REGISTER WITH US INCLUDING PROVIDING RIGHT TO WORK DOCUMENTS ALONG WITH OBTAINING AN ENHANCED CHILD WORKFORCE DBS THAT WILL BE PROCESS BY US BUT COME AT A COST OF £47.20 (UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE REGISTERED ON THE UPDATE SERVICE).
