Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver Tramper
Location: Nuneaton
Pay rate: £160.00 - £200.00 per day
Hours of Work/Shift: Monday to Friday, with weekend work available (Saturday and Sunday)
Type: Temporary
Start Date: Immediately
We are hiring for HGV Class 1 Driver Tramper to undertake nationwide driving duties based out of Nuneaton. This is an opportunity to join a well-established transport company where you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries for various high-profile clients. You will be part of a professional team, operating a range of trailers including Curtain side, Box (Fridge), Single-Deck, and Double-Deck trailers.
Duties of a HGV Class 1 Driver Tramper:
You will be working as part of the Logistics team and will be responsible for:
- Tramping:
- Begin your week on Monday by picking up an empty trailer from our yard in Nuneaton.
- Perform one delivery and one collection daily, taking breaks on the road or at customer sites.
- Return to the yard on Friday to complete the week.
- Trunking Delivery:
- Start your day solo at our yard and drive to a specified distribution centre.
- Collect a loaded trailer from the distribution centre or other designated locations.
- Complete one delivery and one collection each day before returning the trailer.
- Finally, drive back to our yard to drop off your unit.
Skills and Experience of a HGV Class 1 Driver Tramper:
As a Class 1 Lorry Driver, you need to have experience with:
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean record and Driver CPC licence.
- Handling various types of trucks and trailers.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
It would be beneficial to the HGV Class 1 Driver Tramper role if you also had:
- Good communication skills, particularly in written and verbal English.
- Commercial driving experience.
- Access to reliable transport, as our site is easily accessible by car, public transport, walking, or cycling.
