We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in product design and development. You will play a crucial role in designing and supporting new and existing products throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Controls Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and continuously improve products to meet specified requirements.
  • Investigate new technologies, construction methods, and processes across our product portfolio.
  • Convert existing 2D CAD data into 3D Solid Edge format.
  • Create accurate component and assembly drawings using CAD systems.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BoMs) for product release into production.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including creating Macros and using complex formulas.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering within active projects.
  • Collaborate with external manufacturers and suppliers to establish and agree on specifications.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues nationally and internationally.
  • Identify areas for improvement within existing manufacturing processes.
  • Construct and evaluate prototypes for performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HND or higher in Electrical or MechanicalEngineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Experience in Manufacturing
  • Strong and rigorous approach to design, with demonstrable experience in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA).
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Solid Edge, and Lantek CAM is desirable.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing processes, injection molding, and 3D printing is a plus.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronics theory is advantageous.
