We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Senior Engineer to join the Electromobility and Power team. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge projects, contributing to the design, development, and integration of energy-efficient electric and hybrid vehicles. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver projects related to automotive systems, hybrid electric vehicle systems, and other xEV applications with an electrical focus (both HV and LV).
Provide technical support across design, development, integration, and testing activities for automotive and xEV systems.
Contribute to the development of system architecture and requirements capture.
Develop detailed designs for automotive systems, HV battery packs, and control systems, ensuring adherence to safety, EMC, reliability, and maintainability standards.
Oversee the integration of sensors and communication interfaces, including vehicle networks like CAN, LIN, and FlexRay.
Collaborate with the team on verification and validation strategies, ensuring that projects meet performance, efficiency, and safety targets.
Assist in the technical development of the team and mentor junior members.
Help develop proposals and engage with customers to support new business.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant engineering degree (2:1 or equivalent) with proven experience in automotive electrical systems for xEV applications.
Expertise in the design, development, and testing of HV & LV electrical systems.
Experience with network interrogation tools (e.g., Vector, PeakCAN, Intrepid) and GUI design.
Experience in system architecture, concept development, and safety-related systems in compliance with recognized standards.
Familiarity with the product development lifecycle, including the use of V-cycle or PLM methodologies.
Eligibility to hold UK government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Higher degree (e.g., MSc, Eng. D, or Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
Experience in the development of production-level systems for both automotive and defense applications.
Knowledge of systems for autonomous and driver assist applications in automotive and defense sectors.
Understanding of forward-operating micro-grid power solutions and military vehicle electrification.
Experience with electrical simulation tools (e.g., Simscape Electrical), requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS), and schematic capture.
Familiarity with industry standards such as Def Stan 61-005, Conducted Emissions 59-411, and Generic Vehicle Architecture 23-009.
