We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Finance Business Partner - Strategic Growth on a 12 months fixed term contract at Holland & Barrett. This role is critical to enabling the commercial leadership team to unlock growth opportunities and deliver strategic objectives. It ensures the financial health and feasibility of growth initiatives, contributing directly to revenue generation and operational efficiencies in alignment with the broader company strategy.

This role will provide financial leadership and business partnering for strategic transformation projects, focusing on B2B and Marketplace growth initiatives. The role ensures business cases are developed on aligned assumptions, provides insightful analysis to drive decision-making, and supports the transition from strategy to execution.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

Major Projects and Initiatives:

  • Lead commercial finance support for B2B and Marketplace initiatives, providing weekly and monthly reporting, financial analysis, and insightful content for commercial reviews.
  • Build and present robust business cases for growth opportunities, including financial modelling, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Provide actionable insight on initiative performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement a finance plan to transition initiatives from concept to Go-Live, ensuring systems, reporting, and analysis are prepared.

Operational Tasks:

  • Manage the handover of initiatives into BAU Finance teams, ensuring ongoing requirements are well-documented.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture across systems, processes, and reporting within the finance team.
  • Accuracy and effectiveness of business cases presented at stage gate reviews.
  • Financial performance of B2B and Marketplace initiatives compared to initial forecasts.
  • Timely and successful implementation of finance plans for growth initiatives.
  • Quality of insights and reporting delivered to stakeholders.
  • Smooth transition of initiatives to BAU with clear documentation and process alignment.

Location

This role is based in Nuneaton, and may be occasionally required to travel to our London Hub or to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with minimum 2 days presence in the office.

The Person:

Key Requirements: 

  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business partnering practices and their application in a commercial setting.
  • Awareness of strategic goal alignment with operational processes and decision-making frameworks.
  • Advanced financial modelling and business case development skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced, commercial environment with sharp commercial acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leaders and challenge assumptions effectively.
  • Track record of leading financial aspects of strategic initiatives from concept to execution.
  • Experience in analysing and improving financial performance metrics such as sales, margin, and EBITDA.
