We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as Head of Finance - Group Central Cost at Holland & Barrett. 

The Head of Finance for Group Central Costs at Holland & Barrett Ltd. will lead the financial management and strategic planning for the company's central cost functions. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in financial stewardship, strategic insight, and team leadership to ensure effective cost management and support the company's growth objectives.

As a Head of Finance, you will be an independent advisor to the each of the Head Office functions, including Tech, Finance, HR and other Group functions, strong cost management disciplines, clear, timely and accurate reporting & forecasting, driving a high level of engagement in costs across the stakeholder spectrum and wider business

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to manage and optimize group central costs.
    • Collaborate with senior management to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Oversee the preparation and management of budgets and forecasts for central cost functions.
    • Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations for cost efficiencies.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for group central costs.
    • Present financial reports and insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Cost Management:
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
    • Implement effective cost control measures across the group.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to support their professional growth.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support financial initiatives.
    • Act as a key liaison between finance and other departments to ensure cohesive financial management.

Location:

This role is based in Nuneaton, and may be occasionally required to travel to our London Hub or to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with minimum 2 days presence in the office.

The Person:

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
  • Retail experience desirable, preferably within a commercial finance role, ideally with a core cost focus
  • Inquisitive problem solver
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale budgets and delivering cost efficiencies.
  • Experience in proactively managing ambiguity
  • High level of attention to detail and organisation
  • Strong MS Office skills, Onestream experience preferred but not essential
