Full-Time English Lecturer – Functional Skills & GCSE English LanguageLocation: WalthamstowStart Date: ASAPWe are currently seeking an experienced English Lecturer to join our team on a full-time basis, delivering Functional Skills English (Entry 2 to Level 2) and GCSE English Language courses. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make an impact and support learners in achieving their academic goals.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Functional Skills English (Entry 2 to Level 2) and GCSE English Language.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, ensuring progress and achievement within the curriculum.
  • Prepare students for assessments and exams, with a focus on improving literacy, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report on their development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and other staff activities.
  • Ensure that students are supported with any additional needs or requirements, in line with the college's inclusive learning policies.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience teaching Functional Skills English (Entry 2 to Level 2) and GCSE English Language.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with a diverse group of learners and understanding of their specific needs.
  • Must have an enhanced DBS check in place.
  • A passion for teaching and helping students to reach their full potential.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work full-time and start ASAP.
  • A strong understanding of the English curriculum, particularly in English Language (not ESOL).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners to achieve their academic goals.
