Our client is seeking a Planning Technician for an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Start Date: ASAP, 3 Month Contract

Pay Rate: 35.00 Per Hour PAYE

Location: CV11 5AA

Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week, 09:00 - 17:30

Job Purpose:

To assist in the work with HM Land Registry to standardize and migrate the local land charges register information to one accessible place.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Every local authority in England and Wales, except county councils, is required to hold a local land charges register that records obligations affecting properties within their administrative area. HM Land Registry is working in partnership with local authorities in England and Wales to standardize and migrate local land charges register information to one accessible place. Each charge should be accompanied by sufficient information to enable the digitization and transformation to create an accurate spatial extent for the charge. The Council has a large number of charges that require spatial capture and the need to confirm the charges are still valid
  • Review and identify local land charges and update the national register. This will involve in-depth use of Council software, the Council's proprietary archiving software, Microsoft Excel, and the national land charges register
  • Assistance with accurate spatial capture and related data manipulation

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a planning or development role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in GIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local zoning codes and land use regulations is a plus.
