Design Engineer required for a leading manufacturing business in Nuneaton!!!

Are you a Design Engineer looking to progress into a Senior role, or are you a Senior Design Engineer who enjoys the Product Design aspect of the job and wants to continue this long term?!

A leading UK manufacturing business in Nuneaton is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their dynamic Product Development department, the annual salary will be up to £55,000 per annum (DOE).

The hiring manager would prefer someone from the Goods Appliance industry, but they are prepared to take someone from a different industry and give the relevant product training.

We are looking for someone who lives within an hour's commute of Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the design, development, and launch of strategic projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, function, and reliability.
  • Embed sustainability goals into new product design solutions, aligning with the company's vision for a greener future.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to market swiftly and efficiently.
  • Create models, technical drawings, and specifications using 3D CAD (SolidWorks).
  • Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturing improvements, and enhanced quality and value.
  • Provide technical guidance to the product development team, contributing to the commercialization of new innovations and technologies.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Design Engineer, preferably from within the consumer goods appliance industry.
  • A Higher National Certificate in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, ideally with experience in sustainable design.
  • Strong technical report writing skills and experience in designing with plastic materials.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with a positive and inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
