A lovely infant school based in Nuneaton would like a teacher to join their welcoming and supportive team to cover a year 1 class whose teacher is going off on maternity leave. I have been advised that they would like a teacher for 4.5 days, Thursday will be a morning only with Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday being full days.

Your new role

You will be starting after February half-term. The first week will be to handover with the other Year 1 teacher. The role will then continue until the end of the academic year.All planning for the class will be in place, ou may need to tweak it slightly or differentiate for certain children in the classroom, you will be expected to mark books following the school marking policy and to complete end of year reports. On certain occasions and for important announcements which may affect you, you may be asked to attend staff meetings.

First and foremost, the Headteacher would like a committed and dedicated teacher, they have never required a teacher on a long-term basis before and would really like the successful person to be able to commit to the entirety of their maternity leave. What you'll need to succeed

  • You must have a good knowledge of the lower KS2 national curriculum.
  • You should be able to adapt to different teaching methods and environments and be confident in doing so.
  • You must have experience teaching within the last 5 years in the teaching industry and hold a QTS, PGCE or ECT.
