Service Care Solutions are working alongside a local authorising in Nuneaton and Bedworth who are looking for a Local Taxation Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. Please find a description of the role below.
Role: Local Taxation Officer
Rate: 26-30 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Nuneaton and Bedworth
Contract: 3 months on going.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle enquiries from the public, businesses, and other agencies via phone, email, in person, or in writing.
- Process refunds for overpaid Council Tax and NNDR.
- Undertake tracing work to locate absconders and prepare cases for write-off.
- Assist with bankruptcy-related matters and manage sundry debt accounts.
- Detect and prevent fraudulent applications for reliefs, discounts, and exemptions.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and assist with statutory relief determinations.
- Liaise with internal departments and external organisations as needed.
- Strong knowledge of Council Tax and NNDR legislation.
- Experience in customer service and handling financial transactions.
