We are looking for a Communities Officer to join our team, working to reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB) and improve community safety across Nuneaton and Bedworth. In this role, you will support victims and witnesses, deliver key community projects and work closely with partners to make our communities safer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide support advice and guidance to victims, witnesses and individuals who have been impacted by or experienced ASB
  • To support the Community Safety Team Leader in delivering all NABSCOP (Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Communities Partnership) projects and priorities.
  • To support the Community safety Team leader in the coordination of ASB partnership meetings with relevant partners.
  • To assist and support the delivery of interventions in relation to ASB and community safety as specified in countywide, regional or national strategies.
  • To support the Community Safety Team Leader in delivering specified community safety projects.
  • To support the Community Safety Team Leader in the preparation of appropriate funding applications.
  • To contribute and participate in the development and implementation of strategies and policies to address ASB and community safety issues in the Borough
  • To operate as the Council’s Corporate Officer for Anti – Social Behaviour (ASB), investigating, evidencing and enforcing cases of ASB by working closely with internal departments and partner agencies to tackle ASB across all types of housing tenure.
  • To assist in the development and delivery of community safety projects on behalf of the Nuneaton and Bedworth Community Safety Partnership (NABSCOP). 
  • To develop, support, and monitor the Council’s ASB and community safety initiatives by working in partnership with representatives of the Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Communities Partnership, associated partners and groups.

The Person

  • Experience of addressing ASB and developing activities in relation to community safety.
  • Experience of monitoring the delivery of community safety initiatives in partnership with communities and stakeholders.
  • To give professional advice on ASB/community safety and advise when other professional advice and/or assistance should be sought.
  • Experience of identifying and apply for resources/funding needed to deliver community safety initiatives
  • Experience of enforcement legislation, community interventions including serving notices, taking and providing evidence and attending court.
  • Experience of working with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies and organisations in developing and delivering projects.
