We are collaborating with a specialist independent school in Oakham that offers education, residential care, and therapy for young people aged 8 to 18. All students have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs), so experience with these is beneficial. The students have diverse needs, including SEMH, ASD, and other related conditions, and the school also supports students with challenging behaviours.The RoleBehaviour Management: Effectively and consistently manage pupil behaviour in line with the school's policies and ethos.Professional Development: Contribute to and maintain the highest professional standards through active participation in CPD and training programmes, in consultation with the SLT.Record Keeping: Maintain high standards of record keeping, including electronic data entry, report writing, and professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice and school policies.Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in English and Maths to GCSE level for pupils on the vocational plus programme, under the supervision of the Class Co-ordinator.
- Engage pupils in alternative education programmes based on individual assessments.
- Encourage personal development, achievement, and integration into the school.
- Support out-of-classroom activities as part of a broad and varied curriculum.
- Assist at college and other provisions.
- Prepare and deliver materials tailored to the individual needs of vocational plus pupils.
Essential Criteria
- Experience working with children and young people.
- Strong understanding of SEN policies and legislation.
- Ability to quickly build relationships with challenging pupils.
- Ability to work independently.
- Awareness of the mental health needs of children and young people.
