Development Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Rutland

Days (8am - 4pm)

We are looking for a motivated Developmeny Engineer to join a market leading company. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager you will be a key member in managing and assisting in development and engineering projects and to provide second line support to the Engineering team. With progressive training and development this company is always is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to a strong engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.

Role Description

  • To identify opportunities for improvements and make recommendations to improve machine and process effectiveness.

  • To assist in managing engineering projects from inception through to completion, including:

  • Writing equipment specifications / Request for quotations.

  • Managing all appropriate resources.

  • Implementing and monitoring / Project management.

  • Compliance with budgetary limitations.

  • Effective controlled hand over to production.

  • To adhere to company Health and Safety requirements.

  • This position is not solely office based and requires a hands-on approach.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Timed served engineer, electrically bias - HNC / HND Level.

  • Experience Ideally, a good working knowledge of PLC and servo drive / control systems.

  • Understanding and ability to work with / troubleshoot Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.

  • IT literate, Competency in CAD, ideally 2D AutoCAD.

  • Have experience on installing and commissioning new pieces of equipment.

  • Good understanding in all aspects of Health and Safety, including contractor management.

  • Proven ability to work and deliver to agreed timescales.
