Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Development Engineer to join our client based in Oakham. This role will eventually lead to a Development Manager position, offering an exciting opportunity for career growth. The ideal candidate will have an electrical background, preferably within the food industry.

Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for improvements and make recommendations to enhance machine and process effectiveness.
  • Assist in managing engineering projects from inception through to completion, including writing equipment specifications, managing resources, implementing and monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with budgetary limitations.
  • Adhere to company Health and Safety requirements and provide hands-on support to the Engineering team.
Qualifications
  • Timed served engineer, electrically bias - HNC / HND Level.
  • Good working knowledge of PLC and servo drive / control systems.
  • Understanding and ability to work with / troubleshoot Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.
  • IT literate, Competency in CAD, ideally 2D AutoCAD.
  • Experience in installing and commissioning new equipment.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations and contractor management.
Day-to-day
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Analytical ability to approach, manage, and solve problems of varying complexity.
  • Take a hands-on approach to work and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Benefits
  • Salary circa £45k per annum
  • 25 days annual leave, inclusive of a shutdown at Christmas plus bank holidays.
  • Company sick pay up to 24 weeks (increasing with years of service).
  • All PPE provided, including safety shoes.
