Process Technician 

 

Job Role

Our client, a manufacturer of specialist packaging products in Oakham, currently has an immediate opportunity for a Process Technician. The role offers an exciting opportunity to join a team that is currently experiencing a significant level of growth. The ideal candidate will have injection moulding experience within the plastic packaging industry.

  

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Ensuring safety checks for the department are completed to schedule.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork as required.
  • All aspects of setting and running moulding machines to maximise the output of quality product.
  • Job changes including colour, material and label changes.
  • Fault finding, Minimising waste, process improvements & quality checks.
  • Promote and ensure good working practice and basic preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain housekeeping around machines and sustain a safe working environment.
  • Carry out tool changes when required.
  • Communicate issues affecting machine performance, efficiency, safety and quality to the relevant supervisor / manager.

 

Person Specification

 

  • Experience of tool changes and setting up production machines
  • Ability to fault find, diagnose and resolve moulding process issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety risks and control measures
  • Hard working, self-motivated individual with teamwork skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Practical hands-on mechanical ability & problem solving
  • Organised and Punctual
  • Ability to work with and without direct supervision with attention to detail
  • Previous production or factory experience would be beneficial

 

Hours of Work and Pay

 

  • Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm (40 Hours per week)
  • Starting salary £30,697per annum
  • 33 days holiday
