About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Quality Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and validating the quality of parts and assemblies, ensuring all products meet required standards and specifications. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support multiple business functions through expert inspection capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Goods Inwards product quality checks, including supporting paperwork checks (GofC, Purchase Order, etc.) in accordance with business processes (CCP & PFC's).
  • Evaluate conformance to engineering requirements and inspect both partially and fully completed assemblies.
  • Conduct patrol inspections at random stages to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and processes.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-conforming products at the goods-in stage and assist production teams with non-conformities when required.
  • Provide ad-hoc inspection/measurement support as necessary across the business.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing staff to resolve any quality issues or delays.
  • Review completed supplier-generated FAIs (First Article Inspections) and Grade 1 part control plans, and update MRP and Visual FAIR systems accordingly.
  • Compile FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) for internal assembly work to provide evidence of process and product conformity.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality Engineering teams where necessary.
  • Perform sample audits of Ship-to-Stock parts.
  • Assist in the internal calibration program for measurement equipment.
  • Work closely with management to meet legal duties and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Role Purpose: To provide specialist inspection capabilities across business functions and monitor the quality of parts and assemblies.

Core Competencies:

  • Proven background in Quality Assurance with a deep understanding of quality tools and processes.
  • Familiar with various inspection techniques and the appropriate selection for each task.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to balance independence and re-assessments when new data is available.
  • Experienced with non-conformance processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Proficient in operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and interpreting CMM reports.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

Qualifications / Experience

  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance or a related role.
  • Strong technical knowledge and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good working knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100, AS9110, and AS9102
  • Previous experience in the inspection of aircraft assemblies is preferred
  • Experience with proactive and preventive quality techniques
