Role Purpose
- Monitor and validate the quality of parts and/or assemblies
- Provide specialist inspection capability across business functions
- Ensure compliance with and improvement of the Quality Management System
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect partially and fully completed assemblies to engineering requirements
- Conduct patrol inspection of random stages to ensure compliance to drawing and process
- Raise NCRs for non-conforming products detected at the goods-in stage
- Support production detected non-conformities when required
- Provide ad-hoc inspection/measurement support for specific demands
- Liaise with manufacturing staff to help resolve queries
- Review completed supplier-generated FAIs and Grade 1 part control plans
- Compile FAIRs for internal assembly work to provide evidence of conformity
- Support supplier quality engineers where appropriate
- Perform sample product audits of ship-to-stock parts
- Support the internal calibration programme for measurement equipment
- Co-operate with management to meet legal duties and ensure health and safety
Job Requirements
- Familiarity with general inspection techniques and their appropriate selection
- Knowledge of assembly inspection is advantageous
- Understanding of AS9102 FAIR requirements
- Ability to read and interrogate engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Familiarity with general non-conformance processes
- Ability to manage the balance between independence and willingness to re-assess with new information
- Competence in interacting with suppliers and internal customers
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office packages

Qualifications / Experience
- Experience working in an inspection environment
- Good working knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100, AS9110, and AS9102
- Previous experience in the inspection of aircraft assemblies is preferred
- Experience with proactive and preventive quality techniques
