Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chef/Housekeeper to join our team in Ruislip. This dual role involves preparing nutritious breakfasts and maintaining a clean and safe environment in our care home. The ideal candidate will be attentive, organized, and sensitive to the needs of our elderly residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Chef Duties (8 AM – 11 AM):
- Prepare and serve breakfast, including cereals, toast, and hot drinks.
- Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and preferences of residents.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including hoovering, dusting, and sanitizing all areas, including bathrooms.
- Conduct deep cleaning as needed to maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Assist with any necessary support related to cleaning up after residents, including managing urine, feces, and other bodily fluids in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Some shifts may require full-day chef work (11 AM – 7 PM) or extended housekeeping shifts (8 AM – 4 PM).
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure a comfortable living environment for residents.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and hygienic workplace.
- Previous experience as a chef and/or housekeeper, preferably in a care home or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
