Are you an experienced Depot Manager in the door industry looking for a new and exciting challenge? We are working on behalf of a rapidly expanding industrial door maintenance and installation company. Initially founded in 2021, they have already made a big impact, in just three years, the business has grown to two branches and are now taking on major contracts with leading companies in several sectors.

A generous basic salary is on offer as well as a profit share scheme, company car, phone, laptop, Christmas bonus, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Depot Manager to join their team and take their Newton Abbot depot to new heights.

The company install, maintain, and repair a wide range of equipment including industrial doors, roller shutters, speed doors, gates, barriers, automatic doors, fire doors, and loading bay equipment.

The Role Overview

As the Depot Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team of 4 permanent engineers and 6 subcontractors. We are looking for a proactive, well-organised individual with a solid background in the door industry.

The role is primarily office-based in Newton Abbot, but there will be occasional client visits, so candidates should be based locally. This position is ideal for an experienced Depot Manager or Service Manager who thrives on keeping operations running smoothly, resolving issues quickly, and ensuring the team is both productive and satisfied.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinating job schedules and allocating work for engineers

Daily check-ins with engineers to ensure job satisfaction and progress

Ordering parts, materials, and equipment to support ongoing jobs

Managing a team of permanent and subcontract engineers

Handling any on-site issues that may arise

Regular P&L discussions with senior management

Maintaining a clear, organised approach to job surveys and planning

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you must have experience in a similar managerial position within the door industry. The successful Depot Manager will have strong organisational skills, proven man-management experience, and the ability to maintain a structured and efficient depot operation.

Essential requirements:

Experience managing teams in the door or related industries

Knowledge of steel door installations, roller shutters, or high-speed doors

Strong organisational and communication skills

Ability to manage P&L and work in a process-driven environment

Local to Newton Abbot or willing to commute to the office daily
