Carbon60 are currently working with one of the UK's leading organic chemistry engineering companies based in West Brom to recruit an experienced Chemical Engineer to join the team supporting the speciality chemical projects across the business, acting as chemical engineering expert.
This is a full time permanent position based on site at the companies production facility.
Responsibilities:
- Support the initiation, design, implementation and commissioning of plant modification proposals including hazard assessments and HAZOPS.
- Ensure all chemical engineering work is in compliance with set regulations and codes of practice.
- Work alongside the Project Engineering team to develop the plant design, layout, costing and proposals.
- Provide expert chemical engineering input to the process improvements, projects and R&D teams.
- Decise the scope and extent of hazard assessments required, leading and initiating HAZOPS as required.
- Act as project leader to specified chemical projects.
Experience Required:
- Chemical Engineering degree.
- Experience developing new processes and improvement projects.
- Knowledge of COMAH.
- Experience of DSEAR methodology and SIL/LOPA assessments.
