Finance Manager - Oldbury - Permanent

We are supporting a leading home repairs and services company, who are currently seeking a Finance Manager to join their team in Oldbury. Ideally coming from a SME background, you will understand the end to end workings of the finance function from daily and weekly operational ledger tasks, keeping accounts clear and balanced and sharing data and insights to the senior leadership team - right through to supporting on management accounts and helping with financial forecasting, budgeting and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide monthly management accounts to provide insight into financial performance
  • Assist accountants in the preparation of yearly accounts.
  • Check and file quarterly VAT returns
  • Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit & Loss and budget reports
  • Conduct daily reconciliation of multiple accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Process payments, invoices, income and receipts using Sage
  • Set up and maintain professional standards in record-keeping ensuring consistency, accuracy and compliance
  • Actively participate in budget management and reporting, contributing to the financial planning process

Finance Manager Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar finance manager role
  • Proficient user of Sage 200
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Comfortable creating and managing spreadsheets, sorting and organizing data, and generating custom reports
  • Proactive, positive, and can-do attitude

Having experience of management accounts and financial planning will be a bonus but please still apply if you meet all of the above criteria

Work Location: Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 days from home
