Nelson Recruitment Services are currently representing our client who are looking for experienced Injection Moulding Setter/Operators

The successful applicants will be responsible for setting and operating an injection molding machine in order to shape plastics. You will have to read and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery.

You must have experience in adjusting machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

You will be working alternate shifts in a busy production environment and should be used to manual handling and using basic hand tools, machine tools and measuring equipment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with PVC.

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the shift supervisor, listen to all allocated instructions and fulfil all tasks to the best of your ability.
  • Work with all members of staff in a courteous manner ensuring a good working environment is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure correct Health and Safety within the extrusion area is followed
  • Responsible for the quality of the product produced and reports any issues to the Quality department
  • Liaises effectively with the Tool maintenance and other departments.
  • Ensures departmental and all company procedures are followed
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement & lean manufacturing principle. 5S, Kaizen
  • Participates in continuous improvement process
  • Ensure recycling is carried out to the agreed standard
  • Development, engagement and communication with all employees and the management team
  • Continual delivery of good quality profile
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork both electronically and manually


Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of operating and setting up extrusion machines
  • Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of extrusion tooling
  • Ability to fault find and optimise process conditions
  • Follow instruction and adhere to safe systems of work
  • Be flexible and adaptable to incorporate a diverse range of job functions within a factory environment
