Our market-leading client is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. The suitable candidate will have good fitting skills with the ability to weld and fabricate, along with hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding experience.

Person specification

  • Time served Mechanical Engineer with a number of years’ experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in mechanical engineering
  • Good fitting skills with the ability to weld and fabricate, along with hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding experience
  • Experience of planned maintenance and continuous improvement/lean manufacturing
  • Well organised, self-motivated and capable of working to tight deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Good timekeeping and attendance
  • Must be eligible and able to prove you can work in the UK, as the Company does not hold a sponsorship licence.

Your responsibilities

  • Performing reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery across the site.
  • Supporting the day-to-day manufacturing process in the most efficient manner, whilst working within a team structure.
  • Effective recording and monitoring of all engineering/production-based issues
  • Troubleshooting problems and suggesting improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Communicating with Production Managers / Team Leaders on progress of issues
  • Completing scheduled maintenance.
  • Investigating faults with plant and equipment, completing any necessary repairs, and reporting status within the maintenance recording system.
