Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Oldbury, West Midlands

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in Oldbury. This is a permanent, full-time position within the maintenance department, providing an excellent opportunity for a time-served engineer to apply their skills in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery across the site.
  • Support the day-to-day manufacturing process within a team structure.
  • Record and monitor engineering/production-based issues.
  • Troubleshoot problems and suggest improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Communicate with Production Managers/Team Leaders on progress of issues.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance tasks and report faults with plant and equipment in the maintenance system.

Key Requirements:

  • Time-served Mechanical Engineer with several years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Minimum City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong fitting skills with the ability to weld and fabricate.
  • Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding.
  • Familiarity with planned maintenance and continuous improvement/lean manufacturing.
  • Well-organised, self-motivated, and capable of working to tight deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good timekeeping and attendance.
