Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Oldbury, West Midlands
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am to 12:30 pm (37 hours per week)
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in Oldbury. This is a permanent, full-time position within the maintenance department, providing an excellent opportunity for a time-served engineer to apply their skills in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery across the site.
- Support the day-to-day manufacturing process within a team structure.
- Record and monitor engineering/production-based issues.
- Troubleshoot problems and suggest improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Communicate with Production Managers/Team Leaders on progress of issues.
- Complete scheduled maintenance tasks and report faults with plant and equipment in the maintenance system.
Key Requirements:
- Time-served Mechanical Engineer with several years of experience in manufacturing.
- Minimum City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong fitting skills with the ability to weld and fabricate.
- Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding.
- Familiarity with planned maintenance and continuous improvement/lean manufacturing.
- Well-organised, self-motivated, and capable of working to tight deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and excellent attention to detail.
- Good timekeeping and attendance.
