Are you ready for the next challenge?I am recruiting for an amazing Special Needs school and they are seeking a permanent, experienced, L3 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference to young people with additional needs.The school caters to pupils aged 11-19, meeting the needs of students with complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties, associated communication and language difficulties and challenging behaviours; many of the students also have acute medical needs. The school provides for students with a wide range of needs including physical disabilities, autism, sensory impairment, and complex medical needs.The school has a fantastic reputation, and the staff are experienced and passionate about the work they do and the support they give. There is clear vision set from the leadership team and both pupils and staff needs are at the core of their values.To be successful in this role you must meet the following criteria:* Able to demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the needs of SEN pupils across age ranges and phases* Able to demonstrate an understanding of a variety of behavioural strategies is desirable* Willingness to work flexibly to meet the requirements of the post e.g. attend parents evening * Must be able to communicate at all levels* Must be patient, caring and committed to supporting SEN pupils* Must be able to cope with and deal with confrontational and stressful situations* Must be committed and experienced in working as a member of a team* Able to work on own initiative* Ability to motivate individuals to perform effectively * Commitment to working in partnership with parents * Awareness of and respect for, the needs of the individual child and their families, including multi-cultural and inclusive practices.* Able to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) * Ability to use IT technology * Able to maintain accurate records * Must be prepared to undertake duties * relating to the welfare and personal hygiene of pupils including toileting and feeding* Enhanced DBS check for Regulated Activity* Satisfactory medical clearancesA member of staff that works at the school told me, "SLT's door is always open, you feel like they truly care."I am genuinely excited to speak with permanent, L3 Teaching Assistants in the Oldbury area who can support this school and its amazing students.
