The Role:We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant and nurturing school community. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support for children with a range of needs, ensuring they feel valued, understood, and supported to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one and small group support for children with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviors.
- Follow and implement individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) to support children’s specific needs.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students’ emotional well-being, using a nurturing and caring approach.
- Encourage independence and positive behavior using proactive strategies and interventions.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and provide regular feedback to the SENCo and classroom teacher.
We’re looking for someone with:
- 1+ year of experience working with children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- A solid understanding of how to manage challenging behavior with patience and positivity.
- A proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to adapt to different situations with ease.
- The ability to build strong relationships with children, showing empathy, care, and understanding.
- Experience in implementing and following EHCPs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
