Are you an experienced Supply Chain Manager with a background in working directly with mills? Our client, a leading steel distribution business, is seeking a proactive and commercially driven individual to manage and optimise their supply chain operations.
As a Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing procurement, supplier relationships, and inventory management while ensuring seamless coordination with mills to maintain efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the end-to-end supply chain, working directly with mills to secure the best pricing and availability.
- Negotiating supplier contracts to drive cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Monitoring and analysing market trends to identify risks and opportunities.
- Overseeing stock control, logistics, and procurement processes.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Utilizing SAP for supply chain planning, inventory management, and reporting.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in supply chain management.
- Experience in purchasing stainless steel materials.
- Strong knowledge of working directly with mills and managing supplier relationships.
- Experience using SAP for procurement, inventory, or supply chain functions.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A results-driven mindset with a strategic approach to supply chain management.
Package Details:
- Competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience).
- Annual discretionary bonus.
- Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00 / Friday: 08:30 – 14:30.
- Option to work from home on Fridays.
- 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays.
