Are you an Assistant Management Accountant looking for a fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning business located in Oldham?

You will report into the newly appointed Financial Controller, you will be given the opportunity to bring real change to the business by implementing and upgrading Finance processes and software, promoting efficiencies and strong financial controls.

Working as part of a small finance team, your main duties will include:

  • Preparing monthly, management accounts and cost analysis, to a month end timetable
  • Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepayments, payroll, and depreciation.
  • Maintenance and control of the fixed asset register.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Submission of National Statistics.
  • Systems interface / complex account reconciliations.
  • Overseeing the bank reconciliations and accounts payable & receivable.
  • Liaising with the external auditors throughout the audit process, ensuring that they have the information required to complete the audit in a timely manner.
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects, designed to drive efficiencies within the department & continued improvements in financial control across the wider business.
  • Experience of CID facility would be advantageous.

This is an exciting role for a career-minded Management Accountant looking for a business that can provide operational and practical experience, along with support to reach full qualification. As the business is growing, the role will be progressive and in time will have the opportunity to move up to the Financial Controller position.

The successful candidate will have accountancy experience gained within a fast-paced environment and ideally be working towards a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA). They will also be highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

They will be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work on their own initiative. Strong I.T. skills are essential, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
