Our client, a Business Recovery / Insolvency practice based in Oldham, is looking for a new Full time Accounts Assistant to join their growing team.
This role will be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in Insolvency Accounting and already has some experience in all-round bookkeeping/accounting either through hands on experience or a qualification such as an A level or degree in Accountancy. Full training will be provided and a study support package is on offer too, for AAT/ACCA or an equivalent qualifications.
The role will join a small pre-appointment team of 5 staff in a 15 people practice. They use a bespoke accounting software so full training will be given. There may be occasional visits to clients premises so a car will be essential.
Assignment Details
- Day to day bookkeeping
- Bank reconciliations
- Insolvency work
- Processing invoices
- Recording receipts and payments
- Preparing and checking ledger balances
- To communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with clients
- Client record keeping
- Other duties consistent with the grade as directed.
Skills required
- Previous bookkeeping / accounting experience is essential , either hands on or via qualifications ( A level Accounting / Degree in finance )
- Good General IT skills - MS word, excel, email, social media etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organisation and time management to ensure deadlines are met
- Able to work on your own as well as part of the team (given guidance)
- Plenty of common sense
- Ability to work well under pressure
