Responsibilities:

As a Senior HR Advisor, you will play a key role in providing authoritative and timely advice and guidance to managers and employees. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for HR enquiries, providing advice and support in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and practises.
  • Maintaining effective customer relationships by delivering proactive and timely advice to support management decisions.
  • Managing a professional caseload, organising and prioritising work efficiently.
  • Providing professional advice across multiple sets of terms and conditions of employment and pay scales.
  • Advising and guiding managers in the implementation of various organisational policies.
  • Logging and recording casework outcomes for future evaluation and improvement.
  • Supporting and contributing to the shaping and improvement of the HR/OD Service.
  • Attending hearings and providing advice and support to managers or school governors.
  • Assisting in preparing for Employment Tribunal cases and appeals.
  • Attending meetings to advise on HR matters and contribute to effective team working.

Essential Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A solid background in HR advisory roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR legislation, policies, and practises.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to provide professional advice across various employment scenarios.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Proven experience in managing a caseload and delivering high-quality advice and support.

Desirable Skills:

  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working within the public sector or education sector.

Technologies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with HR software and databases.
