QC Laboratory Manger, Chemical

Location: Manchester (onsite)
Type: Permanent

Our client a leading UK Chemical manufacturing company is looking to recruit for an experienced Snr Chemist looking to step up in their career or an experienced Lab Manager. This role, based out of their laboratory hub (separate to the main site) will involve direct line management of a small QC team.


The Role: -


Responsible for ensuring that product meets correct specification before being delivered to clients.
Responsible for leading investigations related to or impacting QC department responsibilities and implementing corrective actions.
Responsible for using data from investigations to identify business improvements.
Ensuring the department works within the health and safety rules and procedures on site.
Manage QC team, responsible for staff development and training.
Ensure QC processes are documented and updated.
Identify and implement QC test improvements (including new equipment).
Work with other departments to ensure efficient business operations.
Have an in-depth understanding of operational activities on site.


The Person:-

Will hold a degree in a relevant discipline (ideally Chemistry based).
The ideal person will have worked in a chemical/ QC based setting in a similar role.
Will have management/supervisory experience and able to coordinate effective training in GC (gas-chromatography) and HPLC.
Will have experience working to highly regulated standards (ideally within the chemical sector)
