Laboratory Chemist

Oldham (commutable from Manchester, Rochdale and surrounding areas)

Salary - £25,000-£28,000

Hours - Monday to Friday; 7.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00am to 1.00pm Friday with 30 minutes lunch break

SRG is working with a close-knit materials and industrial chemicals business in the Oldham area who have recently had a vacancy arise on their quality team. This role would suit someone with a background in chemistry who is looking to develop skills in an industrial role. Applications are encouraged from graduates or early careers professionals with a laboratory background in materials quality control.

Role Description

  • Physical property testing in the lab (hardness, plasticity, colour checks)
  • Quality control (QC) of manufactured rubber products
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to health and safety guidelines
  • Small scale production and manufacture of polymers and materials
  • Producing quality reports of product batches

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry similar discipline
  • Experience and understanding of industrial laboratory work and manufacturing
  • Exceptional work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
  • Knowledge of physical and industrial chemical testing techniques
  • Able to commute to Oldham daily
  • Full right to work in the UK
