Residential Childcare Worker - Oldham

Are you a passionate, dedicatedĀ Residential Childcare Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruitingĀ a Residential Childcare Worker to support the most vulnerable children and families, ensuring the children are safeguarded and managed in an individual bespoke way.

Duration: 3 months initially

Hours: Rota basis including days, nights, evenings and weekends ā€“ Office based

Residential Childcare Worker role:Ā Full JD Available

  • Direct work with children, young people, and families
  • Provide practical help, advice and guidance on issues affecting family, relationship and functioning, whilst subject to being in the care of the Local Authority
  • Support the children with day to day living and supporting them with independence tasks enabling them to prepare for adult life
  • Support the children and young people with their behaviour and provide emotional suppoprt
  • Provide a caring a nurturing environment for the children and young peopleĀ 
  • Contribute to, implement, and review individual care plans for children and young people, in partnership with parents, carers, social workers and other agencies
  • Develop and review risk assessments and ensure actions are followed
  • Develop a knowledge and understanding of resources which are available to meet the needs of the child and family, e.g., local childrenā€™s centres, family activities, leisure facilities, support groups for child/family, support of health-related issues such as sexual health or drugs
  • Attend child protection conferences, Looked After Children (LAC) statutory reviews, multi-agency meetings and the childrenā€™s education and health reviews

Essential Requirements

  • UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification
  • Experience of working with young people in a social work/ youth work or other setting
  • Ability to engage with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
