We are seeking a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join our team under the guidance of the Homes Manager and Deputy Homes Manager. This role is crucial in providing care and guidance to young people residing in our establishment, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that aligns with our Statement of Purpose and Quality Care Standards (QCS).

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide a planned and stimulating environment that offers care, control, and guidance to young people, consistent with the Home's Statement of Purpose and QCS.
  • Implement, review, monitor, and develop social work 'Care Plans' and 'Placement Plans' for children and young people within the home.
  • Develop, monitor, and review individual risk assessments, ensuring all actions resulting from them are followed.
  • Assist young people in managing behavioural, emotional, or other difficulties, adhering to Policy, Procedure, and QCS.
  • Maintain awareness of QCS and Regulations and the responsibilities contained within them.
  • Participate actively in the professional life of the home and work as a member of the residential staff team.
  • Establish and maintain links with other agencies outside of the home to support the home's purpose and the care of the young people.
  • Participate in the administration of the home, maintaining appropriate records and ensuring the proper use of the home and its equipment.
  • Attend reviews, planning meetings, staff meetings, and training courses as required.
  • Complete the Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 3, if not already qualified.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in residential childcare or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the Quality Care Standards and Regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including regular weekends, evenings, bank holidays, and sleep-in shifts as required by the home's rota.
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to undertake further training.
