We are seeking a dedicated Registered Manager to oversee the operations of our children's residential homes, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015. This role involves accountability for the day-to-day management of the residential establishment/s, aligning with the policies of the Local Authority and the Department’s operational policies. The position requires working some weekends and evenings.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide a planned and safe environment that offers care, support, and nurture, maintaining and promoting the emotional and physical well-being of children and young people.
  • Ensure the physical aspects of the children’s home meet or exceed the Quality Standards.
  • Develop, implement, review, and record CLA materials in collaboration with Field Social Workers for each child or young person.
  • Contribute to the development of Child Care Services and professional standards throughout the Department.
  • Maintain effective external contacts to support the home’s objectives, such as schools, health services, and Ofsted.
  • Supervise and develop staff to ensure the Statement of Purpose and management objectives of the home are met.
  • Write and monitor Team and Business Plans, and Action Plans in response to Ofsted Inspection Reports.
  • Oversee the appointment of staff and allocate work to ensure departmental standards and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Monitor and report compliance with Regulations and Quality Standards to Ofsted.
  • Foster professional development among staff, provide training, and act as an NVQ Assessor and/or Internal Verifier.
  • Manage budgets delegated to the home/s and participate in an Out of Hours ‘On Call’ System.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager in children's residential care.
  • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework for children’s homes.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings as required.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • NVQ Assessor and/or Internal Verifier qualifications are advantageous.
