A Senior IT Engineer (Microsoft Technologies) is required for our client based in Oldham for an initial 12-month contract. This position will be mainly on site with some elements of home working (approx. 80% on site), therefore please only apply if you are locally based and able to commit to being on site throughout the week.

The primary task is to lead the deployment of approximately 3000 end-user devices, including pre-deployment provisioning, application assessment and deployment, and staff collections.

This is a senior technical role responsible for providing leading knowledge and guidance in the deployment and management of Microsoft Endpoint Manager solutions.  You are the primary technical expert responsible for addressing complex technical challenges related to end-user computing; specifically, Microsoft Technologies, focusing on Autopilot, Intune, SCCM, Autopatch, Azure Monitor and related components.

In this position, you will combine your technical expertise with mentorship to junior Engineers, ensuring that the IT estate operates at peak performance.  While not managing staff, you provide primary on-site knowledge, technical expertise, and technical coaching to IT colleagues.

As a Senior Engineer, you will form part of the Infrastructure team.  This highly skilled collaborative team is formed from a combination of Network, Server and Field Services staff and focuses on the design, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of infrastructure assets.  

Furthermore, you will assist in embedding ITIL incident management and service-related processes, providing best practice service management of the Field Service Team through second line support.

Skills/experience required;

  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist              
  • High technical knowledge of the Microsoft Endpoint Manager components, with a focus on Autopilot, Intune, SCCM and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting end-user devices and related technologies.
  • Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, protocols, and unified communication platforms.
  • Able to provide effective incident and problem-resolution.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple simultaneous incidents and requests.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to influence, interact and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to prioritise, work well under pressure and organise work with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a highly technical team.
