Paying up to £40k + Company Vehicle + Benefits - Based in Oldham, North Manchester our client is a successful engineering business that are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join their busy projects team. This is an office based, permanent job opportunity working 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday and will involve some UK based travel, therefore you will need a valid UK driving licence.
THE JOB
As Project Engineer you will become a critical part of the operations and supply chain process, primarily focusing on post-instruction activities related to lift modernisation, replacement, and installation projects. The position involves technical, organisational, and interpersonal responsibilities to ensure projects are designed, coordinated, and delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while adhering to ISO procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Liaise with stakeholders to ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant project execution.
Technical Oversight: Conduct on-site surveys, verify technical details, and review supplier specifications and quotes.
Documentation & Coordination: Consolidate technical/commercial information and manage project programming and handovers.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
Site Activities: Attend site surveys, meetings, and events as required.
THE PERSON
Experience: Preferable background in lift engineering or similar industry.
Skills: Proficiency in CAD and other design software, strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
Qualifications: Engineering qualifications (BTEC Level 3 or higher) and GCSEs in English and Mathematics.
Attributes: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Ability to lead, train, and maintain a positive team culture.
Training and Development: The role offers a pathway to achieving qualified engineer status (e.g., NVQ Level 3) for those not already certified.
Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required as you will be expected to travel to meet clients and attend site visits.
