Chroma are excited to be working with a leading company in the renewable energy sector as they search for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their technical team, specialising insolar powersolutions.

The role of the Electrical Design Engineer will involve leading the development of electrical systems, including creating and interpreting electrical drawings, technical documentation, and PLC programming. You will also assist with the build and testing of prototypes, helping to bring innovative off-grid and grid-tied power systems to market.

Electrical Design Engineer Requirements:
  • HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Expertise in generating and interpreting electrical drawings
  • Control panel design experience
  • PLC programming, fault finding, and modification
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience creating technical documentation
  • In-depth knowledge of BS7671 standards

Preferred but not essential:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with industrial inverter drives
  • Experience in hybrid power systems and solar PV design
  • Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) creation
  • Experience with project cost tracking
  • Certifications: C&G 2391-52, COMPEX 14, FSEng - TV SD
  • CAD skills (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
  • Understanding of IEC, ISO, and EN standards
