The Role:As a Client Manager, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and business advisory services. You will be the key point of contact for clients, ensuring that their financial needs are met while identifying opportunities to add value to their business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients across various sectors, providing accounting, tax, and advisory services.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, and tax returns.
  • Offering proactive business advice to clients, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for financial queries.
  • Supervising and supporting junior staff, reviewing their work, and providing training where necessary.
  • Ensuring all client work is completed accurately and in a timely manner, meeting deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve clients' financial processes and suggesting value-added services.
  • Staying up to date with accounting standards and tax regulations to ensure compliance and advise clients accordingly.
  • Assisting with business development, including onboarding new clients and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Liaising with HMRC and other regulatory authorities on behalf of clients when required.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Experience managing a client portfolio and delivering a range of accounting and tax services.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, VAT returns, and management accounts.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience mentoring and managing junior staff is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, client-focused approach.
