Finance Business Partner

We are looking for an experience Finance Business Partner to join our team on a permanent full time basis.

The role reports to the business unit Head of Finance who sits on the Finance Leadership Team as part of a small, focused team of business decision support partners. The successful candidate will partner with operational leads and BI functions, gaining an enhanced and deeper understanding of business drivers to influence business decision making and in turn financial performance by:

Role and Responsibilities

This role will be the internal and external customer facing role and will rely on the FP&A and transactional processing teams to provide the underlying financial information.  The overall Finance team comprises 70 heads, with the majority of staff located in the Oldham area.

  • Interpreting and articulating financial results, trends, and key variances versus financial plans
  • Identifying, developing, and embedding new and more insightful ways of communicating analytical outcomes that drive business performance, including where appropriate financial business KPI’s
  • Assessing potential new opportunities alongside the business development team
  • Working with the FP&A team to strengthen the financial planning cycle and output
  • Initiative & Synergy tracking vs budget and forecast
  • Evaluating and tracking risk and opportunities for specific areas of the business
  • Initial point of contact for lines of business in relation to financial analysis
  • Deep dive analysis to inform the business and drive performance
  • Weekly performance reporting
  • Monthly review and communication of financial results
  • Lead the lines of business Budget and Forecast preparation
  • Line Management of two members of staff
  • Ad hoc projects for the business unit

Person specification

  • Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Commitment to local and regional travel
  • Confident in the use of Excel
  • Experience working with finance systems (D365 and/or TM1 is desirable)
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels internally, and externally
  • Strong business planning and analysis skills
  • Experience of overseeing group finance processes
