First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) is searching for an exceptional Head of Finance to lead their financial strategy and operations. THE ROLE

You will play a key role in producing and managing a 30-year financial plan and support various development projects aimed at enhancing community living. In this high-stakes role, you'll oversee compliance with accounting practices, manage treasury services, and ensure effective budget management within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain FCHO’s financial systems, ensuring compliance with statutory and accounting practices and HCA requirements
  • Lead and motivate the Finance Business Partners, aligning their efforts with FCHO’s strategic delivery plan
  • Oversee the statutory financial accounts and liaise with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Oversee financial appraisal, accounting, and reporting for new developments, supporting FCHO’s Development Programme
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in financial policies, systems, and procedures to ensure exceptional customer care and value for money
  • Ensure VAT compliance and maximise recovery through VAT Shelter and taxation strategies
  • Manage the budgeting process, ensuring accuracy, control, and clear audit trails
  • Develop and deliver FCHO’s Risk and Assurance framework, including internal audits and risk reporting
  • Support the Director of Finance in creating robust financial strategies for FCHO and New Living Homes
  • Deliver timely and accurate management reports to key stakeholders, including boards, regulators, and funders
  • Monitor and enhance systems, processes, and procedures for maximum efficiency
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations

  • Qualifications: CCAB qualified with a proven track record in financial leadership.
  • Skills: Strong expertise in financial controls and reporting, VAT compliance, treasury management, financial planning, and audit processes
