Warehouse Operative

Role – Depot Operative (FLT required)

Salary - £25,000-£27,000

Hours – Monday- Friday // 8am-5pm

Reed are currently working with a plant and machinery hire company who specialise in offering relocatable renewable energy solutions and solar power generation.

The company are currently looking for a Depot Operative with a valid forklift truck license. As a Depot Operative, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, ensuring all equipment leaves the yard meeting the company's agreed standards, efficient handling and movement of equipment and machinery within the yard. 

Key Responsibilities:

Forklift Operation: Safely and skillfully operate a forklift truck with a 12-ton capacity to handle equipment and machinery within the yard. This includes loading and unloading vehicles and plant, organising inventory, and moving equipment to designated areas.

Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the forklift truck and other equipment used in the yard.

Hire Contract: Ensure all orders are accurately picked and made available promptly and efficiently, including the proper completion of PDI and equipment testing.

Yard Organisation: Keep the yard area clean, tidy, and well-organised to ensure easy access to equipment and minimize potential hazards.

Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and regulations while operating the forklift and handling equipment. Conduct daily safety checks on the forklift and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Equipment Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload equipment from transport vehicles and assist with moving parts from delivery trucks.

Essential Requirements:

• Valid forklift truck license is essential.
• Excellent understanding of safety regulations and guidelines related to forklift operation.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills to maintain an orderly yard.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and services
