SEND Teaching Assistants (Level 2, Level 3) - Oldham SEND Schools

Empowering Learning is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants at Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 for various assignments in primary schools across Oldham. These positions include temporary, longer-term, and permanent roles. Experience working with ASD, Down syndrome, global developmental delay, and behaviours that challenge is highly desirable.

About the Roles:

We are looking for passionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team. If you are dedicated to education and eager to make a positive impact on young learners, this opportunity is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Support students with their learning through one-on-one assistance and small group interventions.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote the social and emotional development of students, fostering their confidence and independence.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support staff to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of teaching resources and materials.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3).
  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting, especially with ASD, Down syndrome, global developmental delay, and behaviours that challenge.
  • Thorough understanding of the curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Caring and compassionate approach towards students.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
