We are seeking a HR Advisor to provide authoritative and timely information, advice, and guidance to managers and employees. This role aims to proactively improve employee confidence, competence, and performance, aligning with our core values and behaviours.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers on a range of HR enquiries, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policy, and practice.
  • Maintain effective customer relationships by providing proactive and timely advice, supporting management to take appropriate actions in line with the Workforce Strategy.
  • Manage a professional caseload efficiently, ensuring work is organised, prioritised, and delivered to high standards.
  • Advise on and guide the implementation of various policies including attendance improvement, grievance resolution, performance management, disciplinary matters, recruitment, retention, change management, and restructuring.
  • Log and record casework outcomes to aid future service evaluation and improvement.
  • Provide advice across multiple sets of terms and conditions of employment and pay scales.
  • Guide managers in preparing management cases for Hearings related to discipline, grievance, capability, absence, and change management, and attend Hearings to support the presentation.
  • Participate in job evaluation exercises and grading appeals.
  • Contribute to effective team working by sharing learning, knowledge, skills, and best practices.
  • Liaise effectively with all stakeholders. 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a HR Advisor or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and legal frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Experience in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical and effective advice.
